The Open Call / Guidelines (The brief): OPEN OFFICE QUARTER - TopicsExpress

The Open Call / Guidelines (The brief): OPEN OFFICE QUARTER TWO: OPEN CALL VANSA has begun a process of engaging arts practice and support to arts practitioners within the VANSA premises for 2014. The intention is to share VANSAs limited resources in a small way and enable VANSA to be an active, open, creative space. Who can apply? In the second quarter of the year we will be looking at projections as a low cost tool for continental collaboration. Artists interested in exploring projection as a concept and thematic tool are encouraged to apply. We have received a number of expresssions of interest and look forward to selecting more than one participant for the residency. For this reason, we have extended the deadline for applications until 15 May 2014. Please send your expression of interest to Euridice Kala at [email protected] before then. More about VANSAs open office: The open office residency is a malleable quarterly programme in which an artist/writer/curator can use office space within VANSA. Within the open office period the artist is invited to engage with our quarterly themes revolving around low cost ways to exchange ideas across the African continent. This is an experimental pilot process that we hope might grow into an approach to making VANSA more accessible to arts practitioners. This process serves part of PAN!C, a VANSA and Picha collaborative project on independent arts practice across Africa. Arts practitioners interested in the thematics of PAN!C and the possibilities for sharing ideas across the continent are welcome to contact VANSA with an expression of interest. There will be four programmes over 2014. What we offer: The open office offer a suitable working space by providing an environment in which the resident can have access to: A desk Internet and phone A networking and/or meeting space A presentation platform Please note VANSA is working on no budget for this project and so only resources already in existence are available for use. There is no budget for production.
