The Orange revolution of 2004 to 2005 was our battle for new faces in Ukrainian politics. Euromaidan, the wave of protests that began in 2013, was a battle to forge a new relationship between citizens and their government. The 55 percent of the vote Petro Poroshenko received is not an outright victory but rather a loan of the Ukrainian peoples trust, which they expect to be paid back promptly and in full.
