The Outer Cape Christian Church has got to be one of the warmest, - TopicsExpress

The Outer Cape Christian Church has got to be one of the warmest, sweetest , brightest, and most unpretentious churches Ive ever spent time in. Nini and I have been there on a few occasions and although were both a little resistant to religious dogma, it is never what weve been met with inside those front doors. Seans Christian friends are always genuinely happy to see me, and Nini feels every bit as welcome and appreciated as I do. There we sat , we two old lady rebels, in the back row loving every minute of the concert, the all-inclusive camaraderie, and even our own singing (or attempts at it). Jim OBrian with his guitar and gentle passion for Jesus is as believable as a man can be. There was flute and cello music which carried us into the true meaning of Christmas, interspersed with amazing vocals from Eric Coates accompanied by his wife on piano. Im sure you native Townies remember the Coates Family...bet there was a lot of singing going on in their home on Tremont St. over the years. Christmas with a gang that size obviously left Eric with a deep love of Christian tradition....and God. At the end Rick Hawkins led us in a carol. We never know when theres a singer among us while were out grocery shopping. Great surprise. And in that little church with all its big love, is always the spirit of Sean. Tidings of comfort and joy. So glad I didnt miss it.
