The Outfield | Play Deep | 30 Year Anniversary In 1983, John, Tony and Alan recorded Turn And Run at Scarf Studios in East London. The band recorded all of the demos for Play Deep at Scarf and Turn And Run was under early consideration until dropped for stronger tracks. This is Mix 1 before the chorus was altered with extra vocals. Measured against the mega stars of the 1980s, The Outfields debut album, Play Deep, is naturally easy to overlook. But as far as debuts are concerned it would be difficult to understate the quality, infectious vibrance and success of Play Deep. The Outfields first release introduced all of America to Englands best kept secret. Play Deep produced four hit singles and propelled the band to multi platinum success.
