The Owens Valley was bathed in glory this afternoon and evening for our drive home. Clouds piled up into castles with"godlight" streaming through the windows onto the Sierra, which were layered in light and shadow and just spectacular. And that was only one direction! The White-Inyo Range was every bit as glorious but in different ways. We could see summer rain falling to the north, and what looked like a cloudburst over Montgomery Peak to the north of White Mountain. What a great welcome home!
