The Pan African Spelling Bee has been created to help elevate the status of reading and unity among African children. Children from across the African rainbow spectrum will take to the stage on Saturday 6th December, themselves, stand as equals; struggling over vowels and consonants. This is Africa’s first continental English Spelling competition. The program is open to learners in Grades 4 to 10 or between the ages of 9 -16. The Pan Africa Spelling Bee is open for learners residing or studying in South Africa but who originate from different countries on the continent. The Pan African Spelling Bee is an incredible opportunity to get Africans involved in an educational activity. This is a space for spellers to increase their vocabulary, gain greater knowledge of the English language, improve their public speaking skills and make lifelong friends. Participating Countries: Angola, Algeria, Botswana, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Libya, Malawi, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Somalia, Swaziland, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Come and join us at the Constitution Hill, Saturday 6th December 2014, from 10am. Entrance is Free
