The Panthers blow once more on decisions regarding wideouts. Steve Smith, while coming across as cocky and arrogant, which is needed for a pro player, has given his all only to be thrown away like garbage. This will come back to haunt the Panthers. The front office blew an opportunity to draft a future all pro in Alshon Jeffrey two yrs ago to draft an offensive lineman who cant stay healthy. He and Smith would have made a great tandem and been the best since the Mushin Muhammad. Smith pairing. That ones on former GM Marty Hurney, but this has Dave Gettlemans signature all over it. I guess its a popularity contest instead of who is a tough hard nosed competitor and someone who has been a mainstay for years in Carolina. Steve Smith ha never been my favorite personality but give the man credit. Hes a baller, and I hope he takes it as a challenge and proves what a huge mistake this is. Now, who exactly do the Panthers have in mind for wideouts? No name guys for Newton to throw to? Maybe the team can wear Newton out running him and shorten his career. Great defense but the offense sucks pretty much.
