The Path to Chaos In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did whatever he wanted. Judges 21:25 In my daughter Wellies first soccer ⚽ practice, inexperienced players kicked the ball to the wrong teammates and ran at the wrong times. Coach Tara corrected the problems. She taught the players who and where to kick the ball. She signaled them when to stop running. Under Coach Taras guidance, a group of fidgety girls learned to play as a team and win games. The Israelites might have experienced similar success if they’d stuck with God’s leadership. When they entered Canaan, God vowed to guide them with a loving hand. He promised prosperity if they would obey His commandments. But the Israelites didn’t follow God for long. Soon they rejected God as their king and chose their own paths. What happened? The twelve tribes lost the core of their faith and national identity. As they worshiped other gods, they tasted God’s discipline. The victors at Jericho became the victims of foreign oppressors. The nation floundered in chaos. The Lord promised His people victory based on His ways, not our ideas. We can avoid heartache and frustration when we trust His input. Father, show me the wisdom of Your path. Give me the knowledge that I seek. Let me be less of me and more of you. Let Your Love ❤flow through me onto others. I want to be on Your winning team.
