‘The Paw Man’ Does The Happy Dance :) I just received - TopicsExpress

‘The Paw Man’ Does The Happy Dance :) I just received confirmation today that I will be able to spend some time with Steven Lindsay when I am in the states next month. For those of you who do not know who Steven Lindsay is, he is the author of ‘The Handbook of Applied Dog Behavior and Training’ and in my opinion currently the most brilliant ‘canine mind’ in the world today. He is the ‘professional’s professional. A few years back he was employed by the US Military to run ‘The Canine Biosensor Project’ which was later referred to as the ‘Super Dogs Program’. His books are sitting on my desk right in front of me and I consider them to be my ‘Bible’ of dog training knowledge. His books are not an easy read and they are not intended for dog owners to buy, but they are ‘the’ reference for anyone who is in any way a ‘canine professional’. Steve came to Australia in 2010 for a seminar in Sydney and I attended it on behalf of Air Force and I was impresses, no, I was blown away by the level and depth of this man’s knowledge of all things canine. I was lucky enough to be included in a small group of professional handlers (mainly Police Dog handlers) invited by Steven to join him for a dinner cruise on Sydney Harbour. During that cruise I got to sit and talk with Steven for 20 minutes. That 20 minutes didn’t ‘change my life’ but it was a conversation so enlightening that I became ‘hooked’ on this man’s knowledge. During our chat he told me that if I ever came to the States that I should let him know…… but in all honesty I thought he was just being polite. However because of the profound effect meeting this man had upon me I did just that, I let him know that I am coming to the US in February. So you can imagine how extremely happy I am that he has invited me to spend the better part of a day with him. I’ll see if I can sneak in a ‘selfie’ for the hall of fame. :)
