The Pennsylvania General Assembly remembers Mary Ellen Tiesi as victim of 911 Terror and renamed bridge in remembrance. Remember.... WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Tiesi, a native of Irvona in Clearfield County and a graduate of Glendale High School, tragically lost her life in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 when she heroically waited to evacuate the building in order to assist her employer, The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania hereby enacts as follows: Section 1. Mary Ellen Tiesi Memorial 9-11 Bridge. (a) Redesignation.--The bridge that will replace the Irvona Bridge, carrying State Route 53 over Clearfield Creek in the Borough of Irvona, Clearfield County, is redesignated as the Mary Ellen Tiesi Memorial 9-11 Bridge. (b) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the bridge to traffic in both directions. Section 2. Effective date. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
