The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists that North Wales Road in Worcester Township will be closed to traffic and a detour implemented tonight, July 18. The closures are necessary for the protection of the workers and travelers during the placement of concrete on the northbound and southbound decks of the overhead bridge currently in construction. The underpass at North Wales Road will be closed and traffic detoured on July 18 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. between Morris Road and Township Line Road. Message boards have been activated to alert motorists of the scheduled closures. Posted detour routes will direct traffic on North Wales Road: • Westbound - turn left on Morris Road, right on DeKalb Pike, right on Swede Road and right on W. Township Line Road. • Eastbound - turn right on W. Township Line Road, left on Swede Road, left on DeKalb Pike and left on Morris Road. Local access on North Wales Road will be available from either direction to the bridge; however, there will not be any vehicle or pedestrian traffic allowed through the underpass during the closure. In an effort to keep the public informed with the contractor’s changing schedule due to weather, the project team will post updates to the planned closures on the website at: paturnpike/constructionprojects/mpA20toA31 and message boards will continue to reflect the most current information.
