The Perfect Giggle- Reading these tonight was just what I needed. Some of these might sound horrific but they are stories I can relate to and some that I live on a daily basis. Ive copied these from a Sensory Support Site. You Know You are a Sensory Parent When....... 1. U have almost as many meltdowns as your child 2. When you are carrying your naked son as he is extremely melting down, to the car, driving to school and dressing him in the parking lot just so he doesnt get anymore tardies.. And carry him into school (while getting hit or kicked and screamed at) where you are finally able to calm him enough to get socks and shoes on him. 3. You tell your child repeatedly to stop chewing on stuff! 4. you see just getting clothes on your child as a victory, even when that means forgoing a jacket at the beginning of winter 5. You drop off your son at the school car line. As he goes to walk in the building. Everyone stops and stares at him as hes walking back to the car. Teacher escort is bright red faced. You prepare yourself for your sons super important message that cant wait. Roll down window. . . Teacher says says with a --how in the world?--look, he says he forgot to put underwear on. Look at my son . . . As I try to figure out a compromise between what I know what teacher wants ( take him off premises immediately) and what my son would rather me say ( no worries kiddo, underwear is optional). 6. When your spare time is spent trying to sew all the collars on the tee shirts that have been chewed 7. When you are in a public restroom with your two year old and trying to go while also trying to prevent them from licking the floor***This was my favorite. **** And my personal addition When your maximum combined total of sleep for the past 7 days equals 20 hours
