The Pheo/Para Patient meeting held at The NIH in Bethesda over the past two days was fantastic! I am both humbled and uplifted by the dedication and passion of those who put on the event. I am moved by the many doctors who continue to seek answers and apply their talents to unlock the mysteries of this multifaceted disease. They imparted a plethora of information that needs to be sorted and shared as well as their insights about where the research is leading and what is needed to boost the effectiveness of the quest of finding effective treatments. Also, I feel enlightened and enabled by the many care-giving organizations and individuals who came and gave a glimpse of what a world of difference it can make to each individual be ministered to on many levels—physical, emotional and psychological. Many thanks to those whose tireless efforts brought this event to life—special thanks to Wayne P. Zandbergen who acted as the MC and Karen Adams of the NIH and the Pheo/Para Alliance who planed the many behind-the-scene details that pampered us all. More details to come!
