The Phoenix Veterans Day parade started in 1997, and grew over the years becoming one the best attended Veterans Day Parades in the country. With the strong support from the community, Veterans Non profits take the lead in fundraising since 1999 to the present day. “Honor Arizona’s Veterans” stepped up to the plate this year to ensure that Phoenix will carry on the tradition and continues to make the Veterans Day Parade a great success. The new parade route: Starting on Central and Montebello, heading south, turning east on Camelback Road, turning south on 7th Street and de-stages at Indian School Road. On Friday, October 11th the Grand Marshals were officially announced by Paula Pedene (Parade Coordinator) during a ceremony at Phoenix City Hall. THE PHOENIX VETERANS DAY PARADE GRAND MARSHALS ARE: World WarII Veteran Jack Mosley, US Air Force Cold War Veteran Mary Ellen Kenworthey, US Air Force Korean War Veteran Kenneth Jordan, US Army Vietnam War Veteran Colonel Gobel James, Ex Prisoner of War, U.S. Air Force Desert Storm Veterans Juan and Christine Martinez, US Navy Operation Enduring Freedom Veteran Luis Narvais III, US Marine Corps Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran Brian Mancini, US Army Hope to see everyone on November 11th, starting at 11 am.
