The Pine Bluff School District Marching Band from Pine Bluff,Arkansas has been selected by the Disney World Committee to perform at the Magic Kingdom Festival of Fantasy Parade in Orlando,Florida on May 25th, 2015! The 175 student band,consisting of the Jack Robey Junior High & Pine Bluff High band, auditioned for the Disney World performance slot and was selected in June. The band under the direction & leadership of Mr. Brandon Hughey, Mr. Cary Clayton and Mr. William Douthard, has accumulated various awards and accolades during their five year tenure for the Pine Bluff School District. The band has won over 45 1st place trophies in various categories. The band, selected by the Texas MLK Commission as a 2014 Honor Band, performs yearly across the United States at different events including a special performance for the Memphis Grizzlies of the NBA. The band is currently doing monthly fundraisers to raise money for this trip. Funds are being raised to cover the charter bus,hotel,food,uniform and instrument cost of 175 band students. The band consistency practice as they take pride in their performances. The PBSD Marching Band will represent its district, the city of Pine Bluff and the state of Arkansas when they travel to Disney World to perform.
