The Plain Dealer, always denying they are Left, chose to print a piece today that is timed to support POTUS State of the Union speech tonight. 1% of the words population will soon have half of the worlds wealth they said. Gee, doesnt that sound like we should all support his upcoming Tax the Rich scheme? The seemingly hare-brained proposition will not fly with the new Congress of course. It is designed to set the stage for the Democrats in 2016. What will be left unsaid is what the rich do with their money. Do they have piles of it stacked to the ceiling like Scrooge McDuck? Do they invest it and employ people? Research and Development? Rainy day funding to pay possible exorbitant fines to the government? Fill in your own blanks. In my own humble world Im one of the middle-class. Translated to 2014 America that means both a have- not and a have...but definitely not one of the so-called 1%. I am fortunate to have been raised here and grateful to those who made perilous journeys on sailing ships for a better life for themselves and their progeny. Thats US...With the exception of those brought here against their will. With those thoughts in mind, I wont be buying any of the nonsense that will be spewed tonight. One thing we wont hear from the Smiley Face tonight is how they will operate within a budget. No, they will tell us how right they are to seize more wealth from those who are guilty and give it to those who are not guilty. Thanks for listening.
