The Plan & Curriculum The Project comprises in its syllabus: a. Method Acting Techniques, excerpts from Stanislavski, Michael Chekov & Lee Strasberg. b. Epic Acting: after Bertolt Brecht. c. Theatre Games, as understood and applied by Viola Spolin et al. d. Body & Physique in Acting: as practiced by Jerzy Grotowski, Agusto Boal et al. e. Improvisation: as prescribed by Viola Spolin, Kieth Johnston, Brigid Panet et al. f. From text to stage: Understanding and Interpreting Roles. g. In Muse: Understanding Music in Acting Process. h. Organization: Composition & Co-ordination. Proposed Initiative afterwards • Certificates will be delivered to every trainee in a program. • Theatre Training at Blank Verse for 1 year for free of cost. • Theatre oriented excursion [event tour] to the famous theatre shrines in West Bengal [like: EbongAmra Theatre Village, Burdwan] and also in the other states [like: National School of Drama, Adishakti, RangaShankara etc.] • Theatre in intimate space & proscenia by the students. Add-on • British Council invites us to watch Political Mother, a stunning performance by Hofesh Shechter Company as part of Impulse, the new season of contemporary dance from the UK. The programme is scheduled for Sunday 14 September 2014, 7.00 p.m. onwards [after the ending session of the workshop] at Kalamandir, 48 Shakespeare Sarani, Kolkata. • In the course of 1 year the trainees will get the scope to attend further workshops by reputed theatre personalities of Indian Theatre Fraternity under the same program.
