The Pokeman of La Mancha is a musical which is at best loosely based on Miguel de Cervantes classic work. In our story, a decrepitly old Ash Ketchum has begun to see rival pokemon in all things, including inanimate objects, and in particular wind-type milling stations. Falling in love with a Zubat whom he believes to be his long lost darling Misty, what follows is (quite literally) pokeballs to the wall action which makes us question, in horror, what is senility and what is love? Her eyes suns... her teeth pearls... ZUBAT!! ...and what modesty conceals from sight such as rational reflection can only extol. Zubat? As the audience struggles with Ketchums depraved obsession, though earnest and goodly as his intentions may be, they are confronted at the same time by the tragic story of his companion, Brock. Brock, perhaps in part due to his more dim-witted nature, constructs no fantasy to ease his pain, and through-out the performance is plagued by his memory of Mistys death. She was crushed, in her water park, by a rampaging Geodude.
