The Porsche 917K sponsored by Porsche of Austria (Porsche Salzburg). John Wyer was not happy to see this car at Daytona in 1970. He was under the false illusion that his two Gulf 917s would represent factory Porsche in the race. However, due to a power struggle going on at the Porsche factory this car was entered to be driven by Vic Elford and Kurt Ahrens, Jr. and managed by Ferdinand Karl Piëch who is the grandson of Ferdinand Porsche. The car failed to finish due to a ruptured fuel tank. Photographer unknown.
