The Power of Choice We are people of the human race. And because of this, we are very similar in nature, which makes us creatures of habit. One such habit is the habit of wanting to be sure of everything. As Christians and as human beings, this need for assurance can get in the way of following Christ. We can spend oh so much time wanting to know where God is taking us. And this keeps us from going anywhere. Yes it takes Faith to follow God. But even faith as small as mustard seed is Powerful. And just as powerful is our ability to make decisions. Our decisions are powerful enough to stop God in our lives. God respects us and he respects our will, he will not force himself upon us. Even with him in our heart, if we choose to follow the way of the world, he will respect this and allow it. However if we choose to follow him, he will help us every step of the way. We may choose to remain neutral as well. Lukewarm is what it is called; neither hot nor cold, just straddling the fence. In not choosing we choose. That is a choice. Choice is very powerful. We have made The Choice, now we must make choices within The Choice. This choosing or decision to follow Christ is a declaration that says, “I am placing my future in His Hands. So then the choices that we make within The Choice are very important. God waits upon us to decide. Wavering from one choice to another only ties His hands. God cannot move in our behalf until we have chosen which way we want to go. Being the right choice it will loosen Him to help us along the way. Being the incorrect choice, He is loosened to show the right way. Either way it is all based upon the choices that we make. This is truly freedom. -Eternal Father, I pray that you will shed light upon those areas in my life where I have lost your power simply because of a lack of choice and the fear of making a decision.
