The Power of positive people. Im very blessed to have a Godfather who is more than just my fathers childhood friend. I often call on him and it doesnt matter what time of the day or night; he has yet not to answer my call. This time I was a little frustrated because Im changing my major AGAIN (Sociology is just too damn depressing) and I will have to be in school a little longer than my December graduation date. Him: Yes, you will have the degree, but youve done very well without one so switch your major to film and enjoy the ride. Me: But I hate the fact that Ive taken all these classes and now its for nothing. Him: You are a father, a mentor, and a writer. So those classes will certainly come in handy. Me: But Im kind of tired of school. Him: No youre not. I can hear the joy in your voice when you talk about it. You were just focused on the degree and the knowledge you obtained was just a by product of the piece of paper you were chasing. And at the end of the day, it would be a great accomplishment, but still just a piece of paper. Switch your focus. Education should be a journey, not a destination. And with that last quote, I was back in the game. Thank you, Godfather.... :-)
