The President and His Deputy Need to Avoid Blackmail: I wake up - TopicsExpress

The President and His Deputy Need to Avoid Blackmail: I wake up to the news that at the end of the retreat at the expensive and exclusive Mt. Kenya Club the Cabinet agreed to be very philanthropic and took a paycut. Just before Jubilee psychophants go gagaga with praise let me set the record straight: I do not support the move because it is not genuine it is blackmail to the rest of public servants i.e. Parliament; Judiciary; Governors; MCAs and the hollo poloi Civil Servants. Look; Wage Bill IS Not the only place where this Govt wastes public money. Look at Cars for example: The Kenya Govt runs more Mercedes Benzes than even the German Govt yet Germany makes these cars. And when the powers that be feel they, need, newer sleeker cars; they simply dump the older ones to rot away. If you doubt just visit the Milimani Law Courts in Community Nrbi and Count the Mercedes Benzes rotting away at the Judiciary Parking lot. Foreign trips: Can you count how many the Orezzo and his DP have, made in their 1 yr in office? How big were the Delegations? Did you know that each member of these delegations gets paid sijui Per Diem or whatever they call it in US Dollars when out of Kenya? This is neither taxed nor reflected in the Payroll. Last yr the DP hired a private jet for over 100M kshs to tour Africa. Not any audit report has been made to the Nation on the same. Was that not wastage? I mean I support Govt Austerity and we all must but we hired the President and his DP to work for us. The Salary for the job was fixed by SRC and we have not told them we are unable to pay. What we want is the Cabinet to Work because we are paying for their services. My fear is that this Paycut Philanthropy is strategically designed to make us get excited and forget Insecurity; Corruption and an Economy not prudently run to meet National Growth targets. Public Health Sector is collapsing and the President hardly talks about it. The best we hear is the 1st Lady Half Marathon. The Public Health Sector needs 15% Govt Budget allocation as Kenya signed in Abuja in 2001. Today it is 4.8%. I wonder how the 1st Ladys Half Marathon Will raise enough Funds to plug a Govt Funding gap of Kshs 100 B annually. Work Cabinet work. We can pay you for honest work done. But avoid DIVERSION and Blackmail.
