The Pride and joy of snooker in Uttar Pradesh, the blue eyed boy - TopicsExpress

The Pride and joy of snooker in Uttar Pradesh, the blue eyed boy of the "green Baize " in Lucknow, My best student at the Malik Academy Of Cue sports, the national junior snooker champion, Malkeet Singh pocketed the best break of his chequered career when he officially joined The Central railway, Mumbai as a Ticket Collector at 17:00 hours this evening. First of all, thanksgiving to " LORD GOD " for bestowing his great mercy on this talented, 20 year young lad, and my gratitude to all those who worked tirelessly to ensure his appointment, especially, the mercurial Ashok Shandilya, Central Railway Sports Officer who evinced keen interest in procuring the Indian Railways job for this fine boy who is bound to go places in the near future because of his steadfastness to the job in hand, his willingness to learn, his " Sanskaras " thanks to his parents, especially Sardar Satnam Singh, who tirelessly and with great patience sacrificed his personal interests -- TAN MAN DHAN se to fulfill all our dreams. Only the second cueist to be inducted in the Indian Railways after me ( yours truly was appointed way back in North Eastern Railway in 1969 ). Well ! the journey has just begun. His adorning the National junior snooker crown in Gwalior in February was the turning point. He followed it with a magnificent display of his sheer dogged ness while going down to the ultimate runner-up in the under 21 Asian snooker championship in Indore in early April this year, Majid Ali of Pakistan in the round of last 16 of the competition. Leading by 3 fram,es to 2 he was rather unlucky to lose finally by 3-4 frames but he had left a lasting impession on all including the great ex champion, Mohammad Yusuf of Pakistan , the second amateur cueist to record a 147 in a championship after our own Geet Sethi. Yusuf was all praise for Malkeet after his loss to the talented pakistani and wished him well. This is just the precursor of greater things to come and BY GOD we will leave no stone unturned in bringing greater glory for INDIA, Uttar Pradesh and Lucknow. AMEN.
