The Prince Rupert Gas Transmission Project is proposed to cut - TopicsExpress

The Prince Rupert Gas Transmission Project is proposed to cut through my nations most sacred grounds, the Nisgaa Memorial Lava Beds Provincial Park. This cannot happen. There is also information which I will post below to indicate that the pipeline, also paired in places with the Northwest Coastal Gaslink line, could be converted to transport bitumen to a port in Prince Rupert. The Northern Gateway project may have indeed been a red herring from the outset, meant to distract from and get lost in the glut of proposed LNG lines. None of this will be news to those of you who are following these projects closely, but we must be vigilant and keep up with tracking changes. The Nisgaa Nations hereditary leadership is divided on this issue, and the elected government that essentially administers services for the Crown at both levels of government has agreed to let this project in. This decision in no way reflects the consent of the Nisgaa people, and I will not tolerate any comments that refer to the regular people as sellouts, or any other derogatory labels. As much as it pains me to show this post, I cannot turn away while our elected leadership enables these pipelines to reach the coast, risking much more than only our nation. I do not consent to these projects. Many more Nisgaa do not.
