Maurice Reid Mickey Caines Sr. royalgazette/article/20131105/NEWS/131109882 Re: Hospitality icon involved in 1960 shark attack incident dies at 75 | The Royal Gazette:Bermuda News Hi Peter, It was a lovely funeral -- with the right mix of humour and sadness. The church was packed, as was expected, although we would have expected more of our old-time hotel friends. We went with Bruce Sims (Carol is visiting her parents in the US) and, from the hotel crowd, we saw Alan and Esther Peacock, Larbi Centhouf, Bruno Fiocca, Stan Young, Stanley Ray, Mike Daniels and Jackie DeMeglio -- there were many more but were not sure how many you would know. I will try to scan a copy of the service for you. After we left the wake at Warwick Workmens Club, we drove past Elbow Beach and thought it would be fitting to go to the beach to have a toast to Mickey and ended up enjoying a very nice sushi meal, watching the surf pound the beach. But the place wont be the same without Mickeys infectious laugh and larger than life approach to life. Its very sad that he wont be part of next years reunion. The family greatly appreciated all the emails from the Princess Family-- and were impressed that you knew of Mickeys passing before many of their local friends did! Keep up the good work -- your efforts are appreciated more than you know. Pat Heinicke [email protected] The ability to feel sympathy for each other is one of the most beautiful traits that we possess as humans. The human condition is one of fundamental aloneness. When we reach out and share our sympathies with another human being in pain, we are offering a great kindness to the individual in pain. He knows that he is fundamentally alone but at least he knows that others care and are trying to understand. Thanks Gerhard Schmidt For caution us, Please drink responsibly – sit down so you don’t spill any! gres001@gmail Hi Peter, I have come across these menus & I thought you might be interested for your December news letter.
