The Project of the European Union calls together experts from Kyrgyzstan to hold national consultations towards integration of the resource «Green Pack for Central Asia» into secondary education of Kyrgyzstan BISHKEK, November 5, 2013 – Central Asian Regional Environmental Regional Center (CAREC) in cooperation and with the support of the European Union and the «Targeted awareness raising for enhanced EU-CA partnership (AWARE)» is holding National Consultation Meeting «Green Pack for Central Asia» as an instrument of promotion and integration of water issues into the system of secondary education of Kyrgyzstan. Participation of representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Kyrgyzstan, Ministry of Education of Kyrgyzstan, and teachers of secondary general schools of Kyrgyzstan as well as NGOs in this meeting is expected. The major goal of the activity is to present a new educational resource «Green Pack for Central Asia», developed by CAREC and REC for Central and Eastern Europe as well as to demonstrate the advantages of interactive education for children 11-15 years of age. Participants of the meeting will get familiarized with this multimedia educational resource; will discuss different possibilities of its use in the formal and additional education as well as perspectives of this resource promotion in Kyrgyzstan. Special session within the meeting Programme will be dedicated to discussion of water and water resources as well as potential role of «Green Pack for Central Asia» in their promotion in Kyrgyzstan. It is recognized that only through giving adequate attention to environmental education, enlightenment and environmental culture will it be possible to preserve unique eco-systems of Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia. Environmental knowledge is necessary to each person for the dreams of many generations of great researchers and thinkers of Central Asia to come true; the dreams on creation of the environment worthy of a man, in which a man and nature will coexist in unity and harmony. The event will be held on November 5, 2013, from 09:30 to 18:00 in the Conference Hall of the “Turistan” Hotel, at the address: 6, Koyenkozova str., Bishkek city. Additional information: «Green Pack» is a multimedia environmental resource specifically targeted at secondary school teachers and their students; however, it can also be used by other education levels. It is designed to study different aspects of environmental protection and sustainable development. In 2012-2013 CAREC with the support of UNDP, Coca-Cola Company, the Project «Each Drop Matters», BMU, GIZ, Goethe Institute and European Commission has developed two new resources – the «Caspian Green Pack» and «Green Pack – Glaciers of central Asia». Currently publication and cloying the given resources for CA region is under way.
