The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately. . .Always adopt a middle, moderate, regular course, whereby you will reach your target (of paradise). - Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 8, Hadith 470 In light of recent controversies arising from Islamic decrees that has been circulating on social media I find that as a Muslim society we might be losing our plot. Preaching to a younger generation which are exposed to a wide influence of cultures needs to be strategized better. To dictate from a moral high ground will eventually create a sense of detachment from the actual values of Islam. Moderation is key. Muslim scholars or preachers must somehow be able to identify these moderate tactics and follow through with a more moderate approach to youngsters. The Prophet PBUH was at the end of the day only human. He made human errors and he had mortal flaws. At the end of the day The Almighty has a trait we tend to ignore, The Most Forgiving. Where in our image of God did we forget this?
