The Prophet distributed the spoil of war which was left by the Hawazin in their escape to the fortress of Taif. The priority was given to the new converts. There were also some who were still not entering Islam being given their shares. The first to get his share was Abu Suffian, 100 camels and gold of weighing 1.119 kilogram. Abu Suffian was very happy with the share. He asked the share of his sons too, Muawiyah and Yazid, each got 100 camels and gold weighing 1.119 kilogram. He was also given silver. Abu Suffian carried all the gold and silver given to his family member which he struggled to carry. Uyaynah who betrayed the Muslim was also given the equal amount of share. Equal share were also given to Sofwan, Suhail bin Amru and Hakim bin Huzam. After the leadership got their share, then the share was given to the foot soldiers, 40 goats and 4 camels. The soldiers on horses were given 3 times the amount. The Arab villager who was not participating in the war came to the prophet asking for shares. They too were given with a many goats. They were surprised with the gift which initially they thought the Prophet was joking. They waited if anyone stopped them from receiving the gift from the Prophet. There were not any who stopped them. So when these men went back home, they shouted to fellow villagers to enter Islam. All had entered Islam and asked for share from the Prophet too. The Prophet had given his share to them. He only took 20% of his share.
