The Prophet peace be upon him used to recite this supplication: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَرَمِ، وَالتَّرَدِّي، وَالْهَدْمِ، وَالْغَمِّ، وَالْحَرِيقِ، وَالْغَرَقِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ يَتَخَبَّطَنِي الشَّيْطَانُ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ، وَأَنْ أُقْتَلَ فِي سَبِيلِكَ مُدْبِرًا، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَمُوتَ لَدِيغًا It means: O Allah, I seek refuge with You from (the trials of) old age, from falling to my death from a high place, from a building collapsing upon me, from depression, from burning to death, and from drowning. I seek refuge with You from the devil defeating me upon death, from being killed in the battlefield with my back turned in flight, and I seek refuge with You from dying by being bitten or stung.
