The Prophetic Life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr: Dr. Kings - TopicsExpress

The Prophetic Life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr: Dr. Kings life was more prophetic than many will ever understand. When he was born, his name was Michael King, Jr. His father, upon researching the great reformist leader, changed his name (and his sons name) to Martin Luther. Martin Luther reformed the church, bringing it more in line with Gods Word, after centuries of spiritual abuse and godlessness. Martin Luther King, Jr, reformed attitudes in America and beyond regarding skin color. But it is so much deeper than just race. In his Dream speech in 1963, God uses him to proclaim a destiny that goes beyond skin color, even if he might not have been aware of it. That speech was exactly 100 years from the date that Abraham Lincoln made slavery illegal, and declared all men to be equal. Yet all men were not viewed as equal in 1963. Dr. King led a movement to open the eyes of the public to the laws that were already written. In the same way, Jesus has already paid the price for healing, deliverance, and freedom, 2000 years ago, but it is not until the publics eyes are open, and we fight for what already belongs to us, will the dream become a reality. As King shouts, Let Freedom Ring, I can hear the cry of the disenfranchised, the poor, hungry, and even the prophets of old declaring the freedom that only the Christ can bring. It is now time for us to walk in that freedom, and set others free too.
