The Public Market went off today without a hitch. I hope you all get a chance to get down there and check it out! Tomorrow night (weather permitting...and it looks like the weather is looking good) we will be doing our first free movie in the park. We will be showing Fever Pitch starring Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore - (I dont want to hear about how old it is or I dont like Fallon or Barrymore...just come out and enjoy it with us!!!). Once again, bring your lawn chairs or a blanket and some drinks and snacks and come join us. Let the kids come run around while you relax and laugh a little! We will be starting the show at dark, which should be around 8 p.m. I hope to see you there! - Chief Irwin p.s. Also, I know some people have inquired about whether this project would take business away from the Braden Theater. I wanted to let everyone know that when we first began exploring this idea, I personally spoke with Mr. Dow, who owns the Braden, to get his input. He was very gracious and supportive of the City taking this on. The Braden Theater has state of the art digital equipment which permits them to show new releases immediately as they have been doing for some time. Our movies will be old and in no way compete with people who want to see the latest shows. Mr. Dow was assured that if this event began to somehow interfere with their business, we would make adjustments to negate the interference.
