The Quaid-i-Azam University (Urdu: جامعہ قائداعظم) is a public, research university in Islamabad Capital Territory of Pakistan. It offers undergraduate, graduate and post graduate degrees. It is located over an area of 1700 acres below the Margalla Hills.It was founded as the University of Islamabad in July 1967. The university is rated as the top public institution of higher education in Pakistan. It is ranked as the best university overall Pakistan by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. The alumni of the university are called Quadian and the slogan used by the students of Quaid-i-Azam University is Quaidian Once - Quaidian Forever. Quaid-i-Azam University has four postgraduate faculties and nine teaching and research institutes, centres and schools.including: Faculty of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Medicine (affiliated), Area Study Centre for Africa, North and South America, Centre of Excellence in Gender Studies, National Institute of Pakistan Studies, National Institute of Psychology, National Institute of Historical and Cultural Research, National Institute of Asian Civilizations, Computer Centre.
