The Queensland Maritime Museum has submitted a number of grant applications seeking funding for projects including: IT upgrade, Maritime Heritage Trail, collection significance assessment, gangway platform for Forceful and an Anzac 100 display. We have been advised that we were successful with an application to the Brisbane City Council to install security cameras and the Maritime Heritage Trail application and we thank Council for its ongoing support! The Maritime Heritage Trail project is an exciting initiative with the Company of Master Mariners, Shipping Australia Limited and the Port of Brisbane to develop a physical and online story of Brisbane’s maritime heritage. Volunteers Warwick Foote, Don Braben, Rosey Field and CEO Ian Jempson will be working with a number of other historians to bring this project to fruition. Well keep you posted!
