The Redfish Center & Gallery opened for the 2013 Season this morning and will be open daily from 9 AM to 4:30 PM through September 15. Interpretive programming also starts June 14. There will be “guided walks” every day at 9 AM; “Junior Ranger” programs for the kids every day at 10:30 AM; “Sawtooth Synopsis” talks on the visitor center patio every day at 11:30 AM, as well as “Discovery Stations” at Redfish Lake Lodge and other Redfish Lake locations every day at 1 PM. Boat tours with a Naturalist on Redfish Lake will be happen on Saturdays at 1 PM and Sundays at 3:30 PM; Campfire programs at the Redfish Lake Amphitheater will happen on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:45 PM. All activities, except the boat tours, are free of charge! For more info: 208.774.3376 The Redfish Gallery also opened June 14 for the third year. The Gallery features Idaho artists who create works inspired by the Sawtooth and Salmon River country. This year’s artists include: o Lois Allison – wildlife lithographs o John Beehler – handcrafted bowls o Steve Botti – nature photography o Ed Cannady – wilderness photography o Thad Gerheim – landscape photography o Rob Hart – landscape photography o Julie Hughes – Landscape painting o Linda Lawler – water color and oil painting o Susan Perrin – water color, pastel and acrylic o Evelyn Phillips – landscape, wildflower, and map painting o Sue Van Der Wahl – Landscape photography Some artists are also selling unframed reproductions and note cards. 30 % of all sales at the Redfish Center Gallery are retained to fund education and interpretive programs of the Sawtooth Interpretive & Historical Association.
