The Riders 10yr Million Challenge shared a link. 20 hours ago Hello Folks, So that’s January 2014 gone with the tide and so time for a “how are we doing dit”:- According to The Riders website our contributions officially now stand at £108,912.85 to the end of January. This makes the overall total £648,094.11. Meaning that since November 27th we have collectively raised £35,587.52. Some of you will remember my little birthday message around that date - gone to the archive by now - and what we, as a Branch need to do to achieve our target. Well, we are off target but that is only natural, as targets are faintly ridiculous and the only good ones are the ones you see through Periscopes - Up Scope, Bearing That, FIRE, Down Scope, 10 Down, Half Ahead - but I digress......... It know means that we need to raise £351,905.90 to hit our Challenge. 10 months breaks down quite nicely into £35,190.59 or at 5774 (Jan 14) Members £60.94 to each raise in the next 10 months or £6.09 per calendar month. We have some big events coming up over the year which will eat into those figures - RBLR1000, RBLR100, Weston Bike Nights, Kernow Bike Nights, Millionin10 Rally, Ride of Respect and a host of smaller plans that will contribute all the way. But let’s not forget the individuals who are doing their bit to help us along, not all of them Riders Branch Members but who also share the same belief in raising as much as is humanely possible for The Poppy Appeal:- 2013 September 2013 Paddy McCreanor & The Ammo Techs Association £500 Donation at their AGM November 2013 Helen Scarr and Her Mum £1521.00 Making and selling Crocheted Poppies Brooches November 2013 Elly Jackson £230.00 Making and Selling Brooches (November-1st December 2013 Ray Risk & The East Midlands Crew £517.87 Christmas at Bakewell December 2013 Steve Blundell £180.00 Repatriation Badges December 2013 Wiltshire Riders £16240.00 December 2013 East Midlands Riders £5566.96 Running Total December 2013 NE Riders £621.00 Sale of Angel of The North Poppy Pins 2014 January 2014 Pete Bradley received a cheque for £315.00 from CW Motorcycles of Dorset from their Christmas Charity Run January 2014 Paul Pollard £22.00 Raffle for Box Crash Helmet thru Just Giving Page January 2014 Marilyn Ross & Buck Taylor £182 Crocheted Poppies (Plus £15.00 added thru 10yr Mil Just Giving Page) January 2014 Mark Boardman £300 Porsche Boxster Driving Experience via JustGiving (Full Throttle Team) January 2014 Iddys NAR 2013 £1634.59 We have our own JustGiving Page at justgiving/Paul-Pollard1 which I have linked to a Team “Full Throttle” Page. If you are raising money by JustGiving and wish to be part of the team (helps for claiming the money for The Branch) then get in touch by the usual mediums and I will invite you in. We have raised to date £318.00. Another nice little earner is an Easy Fund Raising scheme on the internet, where you join the scheme, you buy over the internet and a percentage of your bill will be donated by the company. Where’s the catch? Not one - you buy something you really, really want and they give us money! You can find this at easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/rblr/ and we have 27 members who have so far raised £24.32. We all buy over the internet so join, it costs you nothing and lets the big businesses contribute some of their vast profits when you buy something nice. Dont forget we have a new little shop called Items For Sale on the Riders Home Page (click on the T shirt where you will be whisked away to another dimension) where you can find items for sale for the challenge and also a place for you to put your nice little earners on, if you so wish. If you do, give me a shout first to discuss. So what are you waiting for? Shy, retiring, don’t know what to do, don’t want to do anything, don’t know anyone, not liked by anyone? Simples. Here is the easiest way to raise that elusive £6.09 per month - You offer 4 of your friends a “Lest We Forget” Wristband and ask them for a very reasonable £1.50 donation - sorry got more than 4 friends - well that’s a further couple of quid in the pot - no friends - head to the Pub with a handful of wristbands and see how that goes - you may even find you now have friends. You can get them from your Regional Rep, County Reps or at the last resort Wristband HQ. Do you spend your 5p, 2p or 1p or do you put them in a jar for later? Fill a box and chuck it in the pot. How about some of those always popular Poppy Pin Badges? Contact Iddy - he’d love to help you out. Okay I think you’ve got the message - you’ve had your pep talk - your’e brimming with enthusiasm and the wet world is beckoning you to go out to play - so I’ll catch you on here at the end of February or “In The Wind” in a muddy field somewhere in between. And of course “Everything is doable - you just have to do it” Okay Kids - Crack On! Paul Your 10yr Million Co-ordinator [email protected]
