The Riverside Youth Judo Club has strengthened its commitment to teaching Kodokan Judo to ALL youth! Board Certified Behavioral Analyst Pedro Villa (Rokyu) has been working with our Autistic and other Special Needs kids. He is so knowledgeable and has helped us create systems that accommodate Special Needs learning. Please note that Pedro is actually on the mat with us!!!! We have also brought in three of our older Autistic/Special Needs students to help out with our youngest students. Alex (Rokyu), Felipe (Golyu), and Tyler (Rokyu) are our newest assistants. Pedro Villa and certified black belts supervise the class and have been very impressed with the progress! The Riverside Youth Judo Club has over 140 young students. 15% of our students have Special Needs and 40% are considered At-Risk youth! As we continue to grow, we will work even harder to grow our class and include many more kids who would not typically have an opportunity to participate in this sort of activity.
