The Riverwalk tree trimming project is well underway and we appreciate your patience as we complete the work over the next few days. It has been brought to our attention that some homeowners have posted signs to the street trees indicating “Do Not Trim”. It is not our intention to unnecessarily trim a tree that does not need it. The primary purpose is to keep the pathway of pedestrians and vehicles clear and safe. If your tree is impeding the sidewalk area, meaning a pedestrian has to stoop or walk around the tree leaving the sidewalk path we do intend to trim it as necessary. Likewise, trees that are deemed impassable for vehicles will also be trimmed. Trees that have branches reaching out into the street are being damaged by moving trucks, delivery trucks and impede the work of our sanitation truck as well. Keep in mind that all street trees are part of the street front easement and are part of our ongoing community maintenance plan. Final Word - The tree crew has been very polite, kind and accommodating while on site. We ask that you please be respectful of the work they have been hired to do to help make our neighborhood a safe and beautiful place to live.
