The Robbery Squad and Fourth Squad report the Arrest of a North Valley Stream man that occurred in Valley Stream on Friday, July 05, 2013 at 12:02 A.M. According to detectives, Michael Davidson, age 19 of 15 Oliver Avenue and a not yet apprehended male approached an 18 year old male and 18 year old female on Sunset Road in Valley Stream on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at 11:16 P.M. While Davidson displayed a handgun the male subject forcibly removed the victim’s cell phones. The males were then seen entering a white Suzuki SUV that fled towards Fletcher Avenue. At 11:45 P.M. Davidson and the male subject approached two unknown victims on Fenwood Drive at Waverly Place while displaying handguns. The males attempted to steal the victim’s property but the victims fled. A short time later they approached a 22 year old male at the same location and demanded the victim’s cell phone. The victim was struck in the face by the subject while the defendant removed a cell phone from the victim’s pocket. They then fled on foot in an unknown direction. At 11:59 P.M. a Fourth Precinct patrol sergeant interrupted Davidson and the subject attempting a robbery at Merrick Road and North Waldinger Avenue. Both men fled and a foot pursuit then occurred. The defendant was observed discarding a handgun in the front yard of a residence on North Montgomery Street. While attempting to apprehend Davidson at North Montgomery Street and Martense Avenue a struggle ensued. The defendant was eventually taken into custody. A .380 caliber handgun was later recovered. The sergeant sustained an injury to his right knee while chasing the defendant and one officer sustained a broken finger on his left hand during the struggle. They were both removed to an area hospital where they were treated and released. Davidson was charged with four counts of Robbery 2nd Degree, two counts of Assault 2nd Degree and Criminal Use of a Firearm 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Friday, July 5, 2013.
