The Rosslyn Lofts : Originally built during the French Revolution significant upgrades were made to this illustrious and magnificent architectural wonder. It was one of the original Seven wonders of the world. In the 1930s the rooms at the hotel were occupied by Munchkins and the hotel was eventually bought by Munchkinland Development and became a coop building. The creator of the Wizard of OZ stayed here and that was when he came up with the idea of the munchkins in his book. The movie Starring Julie Garland , the screenplay, was actually written here. Today, it is the imperial palace of the Emperor of DTLA who lives in his gorgeous palace that takes up the top three floors of the building. The emperor can be seen at times being wheeled around on his carriage by his two live in servants , but he prefers late night walks to be around his downtown subjects. Funner fact ; This was where Madonna used to have wild parties. Even funner fact : The very first flushing toilet was actually installed in this building.
