The SAF will join 33 other countries in Operation Inherent Resolve, the US-led multinational coalition to combat ISIS. Our Defence Minister announced in Parliament yesterday (mindef.sg/1xRuNhu) that the SAF will continue to participate in multinational coalition efforts against religious extremists who pose a terrorist threat to Singapore and Singaporeans. In his speech, he highlighted that Singapore as an international hub is particularly exposed to such transnational terrorist threats, and that the SAF will offer contributions within our means that are sustainable and useful to the efforts to combat ISIS. In his Facebook post,(tiny.cc/Facebookdefenceminister), he added that we must tackle such threats resolutely to safeguard our home, and keep Singapore and Singaporeans safe. Most importantly, Singaporeans must stay united and cohesive to combat this terrorism threat together.
