The Sagayam saga… Have been seeing a lot of friends writing about this person and thought I will do my bit. He can definitely be looked upon as a role model by today’s generation for both his personal and professional achievements. Hailing from a village in Pudukottai to reaching Chennai for his post-graduation and law degree he is definitely a shining example of the fact that hard work and perseverance with the right mix of dedication and commitment works wonders. After his education he became part of the prestigious IAS (Indian Administrative Service) cadre. But this is not where the “lived happily ever after” part comes in. As they say with great responsibility comes great power, the power to do something good or bad is a choice each one has to make. He made the right choices and I guess rubbed a few (or many) people on the wrong side. His mantra has been Lanjam thavirtthu, nenjam nimirtthu (லஞ்சம் தவிர்த்து நெஞ்சம் நிமிர்த்து) (Reject bribe and hold your head high). And we all know what happens to such people the number of transfers has overtaken the number of years of service. 24 times in 23 years to be precise and the last two transfers in a span of 48 hours. Honesty is a very rare quality these days, a breed with honesty + responsibilty is even rarer, lets show some consideration… #sagayam
