The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Yuma Now Hiring!! Position Title: Youth Arts & Crafts Coordinator (Part-Time) Pay: $7.90 per hour Schedule: Monday-Friday Part-Time 20-29 hours per week (May include some weekend events.) Arts & Crafts Room Coordinator: Working with variety of children ages K through 6th grade where students participate in a variety of activities and games focused on the following themes: arts and crafts, outdoor living, family, culture, character-building, leadership and holidays among other topics. Essential Functions: This job description should not be interpreted as all inclusive. It is intended to identify the essential functions and requirements of the position. Organize, prepare, and lead age-appropriate activities for children ages 5 -- 12 such as arts and crafts, sports, educational activities, and games. 2. Ensure all club members meet behavioral expectations and positively intervene when necessary. 3. Attend weekly staff meetings as required. 4. Submit material and equipment requirements to the club Program Director/The Salvation Army Captains as necessary. Other Responsibilities: Attend trainings as required by supervisor. Other duties as assigned and appropriate for this position. Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position. Education: High school diploma or equivalent is desired. General knowledge of games and activities appropriate to the 5 -- 12 year old age group. Certifications: American Red Cross or equivalent 1st Aid / CPR / AED certifications are highly desired. Experience: Previous work experience working with children in a program setting is preferred. Skills: Conversational knowledge of Spanish is highly desire, but not required. Ability to communicate / work with a diverse population. Ability to build positive relationships with children and parents /guardians. Ability to use sound judgment in challenging situations. Willingness to accept responsibility for a small group of 5 -- 12 year old children. Ability to accept feedback and guidance in the performance of duties. Supervisory Responsibility: None. Physical Requirements: The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the duties of this job. Club coordinators will normally be expected to participate in group activities with the children and can expect to run, stand, stop, crawl, and sit for potentially extended periods of time depending on the activity. The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision along with depth perception and the ability to focus. Travel: None. Working Conditions: Working conditions will vary based on the activity being conducted. Some activities will take place indoors in a climate-controlled area while others will take place outdoors with varying temperature and humidity levels.
