The Scoop Of The Year: Fatou Camara Tears Jammehs Presidency Apart! The Scoop Of The Year: Fatou Camara Tears Jammehs Presidency Apart! In an Exclusive interview with Freedom Radio, Fatou Camara, the erstwhile State House Press Director and GRTS Fatous show anchorwoman unveiled private conversations that she had with the Gambian dictator Yahya Jammeh, in which the Editor of the Freedom Newspaper Pa Nderry MBai was a subject of discussion at the State House. Ms. Camara said on numerous occasions Jammeh raised the issue of Editor MBai, but she wouldnt go into details as to the main crop of their discussions--citing privacy issues. She never hesitated to say that: If Jammeh had planned to kill you I would have tell you. Although the issue of Freedom Newspaper sources was part of her discussions with Jammeh, she said. Jammeh, she added, was told that Fatou Touray, a former Gamtel Customer Service Manager, and GRTS presenter was a source to Editor MBai, but Fatou said that if she had not backed Ms. Touray, she was going to be arrested because she and Jammeh had a conversation about Fatou Touray allegedly supplying information to the Freedom Newspaper. She would not reveal who must have turned in Fatou Touray to Jammeh. She said Fatou Fattys name also came to the attention of President Jammeh. Fatou Fatty is the current Manager of Customer Service at Gamtel. Ms. Camara also alleges that SG and Presidential Affairs Minister Momodou Sabally was in the business of leaking state secrets and files forwarded to him by the President. Fatou Camara also talks about rumors that she heard circulating in the Gambia that General Saul Badjie, Jammehs henchman was likely to replace Jammeh one day. She said Mr. Badjie is quiet at the same time very deceptive. Fatou Camara tells Freedom Radio that the majority of Gambias top Civil Servants, including Jammehs close confidants in the military do not like the dictator. She many folks are pretending to be loyal to Jammeh, but in reality they despised the dictator. Below is the full text of the interview. You can also listen to the audio version of the interview on Freedom Radio Gambia. .................................................................... FR: Few weeks ago, she was in Jammehs good book. Today is she is a refugee in the United States. Fatou Camara was accused by the Jammeh State House of being an informant to Editor Pa Nderry MBai. The informant that never was; is today our guest on Freedom radio. Good day Fatou Camara. Welcome to Freedom Radio Gambia. We want to thank you for granting our request for an interview. Thank you! thank you. To start with: We want you to give us an overview about your life and journalistic background. ……………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I am Fatou Camara, a Gambian and a mother of three. I started my career as a media practitioner back in 1994 when I finished High School as a radio presenter at Radio 1FM. In 995 I worked for the National Youth Service as a public relations officer, sensitizing young people about the Youth Service Scheme on GRTS when it was opened in 1995. In the same year, I worked as a part time radio presenter at Citizen FM, presenting a youth show and reading the 10o clock news. I could still remember a vox pop I did on NDIs withdrawal from the Gambia back in the days. In 1996, I travelled to the UK to study Media and Communication, I started at Handsworth College in Birmingham UK, then to The University of Central England, now Birmingham City University where I enrolled on a BA program, but I did not complete it. I went back to Gambia in 1998 and picked up a job with GRTS, as a reporter and later a newscaster. Travelled and live in the US in 2000 then back home again, and worked for Camelot boutique as a marketing manager for few months then back to GRTS till 2005 when I worked for The US Embassy as Protocol/Military Liaison Assistant. I resigned from The Embassy in 2008 to set up I-Media Company, the parent company of The Fatu Show. This was when The Fatu Show was born. At this time, I also signed a contact with GRTS for news presentation, presenting the news twice a week, Mondays and Fridays. 2011, I was appointed as Director of Press and Communication, office of The President, I was removed after three months, and I went back to my show, until I was reappointed in 2013 and removed again after three months. I went back to my show and news presentation duties, until my arrest and detention. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Fatou relax, take your time and answer our questions to the best of your ability. This is a rare opportunity in a lifetime to tell your story to the world. I know that you have made some television and radio appearances elsewhere before coming to Freedom. Be rest assured that you have reach the right medium to relate your story to the global audience more importantly the Gambian Community. Six months ago, you were in Yahya Jammehs good books; laughing, dining, and wining with Jammeh; conducting official business on behalf of the Presidents office; what actually went wrong Fatou? What have you done to warrant your current predicament? ………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: Well, Jammeh and I had a good relationship until few weeks after Momodou Saballys appointment as SG and head of The Civil Service. I had a heads up from few people that Sabally was up to something, but I never took those advices serious. I was told again that Fatou Fatty and her sister said they will make sure I lose my job but again, I did not take it serious and I could remember telling the person who told me that only Allah SWT has already predestined our paths When I saw Fatou Fatty befriend Sabally and Liti Mboge, I became skeptical. It was during that time that Sabally changed totally towards me. Liti was spending the best part of the day in Saballys office, they were having lunch together and Liti is Fatou Fattys best buddy. Liti later got fired and Fatou Fatty and Sabally became best buddies. It was during this time, that Jammeh changed totally against me, each time I want to see him; he would insist that I meet with Sabally. When I told Sabally that Jammeh would not see me now, he would laugh and say, Well, he is your friend ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Some of our audience (I mean our readers and listeners) might not necessarily be aware of the full details of your case. A week prior to your firing from the State House as Press Director, how was your working relationship with your boss Yahya Jammeh? Was Jammeh in talking terms with you? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: Jammeh was not accessible to me at the end; he was referring all my issues to Sabally, which really frustrated me. At some point I wanted to resign, but I was advised not to go along those lines. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Does Jammeh malice, or snub his workers? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Well I am not sure he snub and malice all his staff, but I know he did it to me. I could remember I insisted and spoke to him at some point and he was like Am I talking to you then I went, Sorry Your Excellency I did that to find out if he was snubbing me and I got it right ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Fatou, your have been around Yahya Jammeh for a while; what can you tell us about Jammeh? Is Jammeh really mean as portrayed in some quarters, especially in the western media? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: I always say, Jammeh cannot be predicted, he can be the nicest guy and could also be mean sometimes..I doubt there is anybody who knows Jammeh very well. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: What have you done to warrant your firing in the first place? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: I honestly have no idea, maybe SG Sabally who is tasked by the president to handle hiring and firing of civil servants would know …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Did you bother to find out what occasioned your firing? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: Oh no, I know I wasn’t going to get the truth about it anyway, so why bother ask. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Could you please explain how your second appointment as DPPR came about? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: I met Jammeh at an event, we had a conversation about some of the things he heard about me, and I assured him that those are hearsays. Then he talked about appointing me as DPC again, I told him I would like us to meet first and clear some issues. Few days later, I had a call that The President wanted to meet me, we had a meeting, I told him what my concerns were about accepting a job from the government and what I went through the last time I was appointed. He assured me that it wouldn’t happen again, so I believed him and accepted the job. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: After you got fired from the State House, what happen? …………………………………………………………………………………………. FC: I travelled to Dakar, while there I had info from Banjul that the NIA are keeping an eye on me, and were planning to have me arrested. I spoke to few people about it and decided that I should go back and face it, not knowing that I was going to face some cooked up story. ………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Manyima Bojang of Nyimasib Youth Promotions name came up during the NIA investigations. What did the NIA tells you about Manyima, while you were being processed there? …………………………………………………………………………………………. FC: I was asked if I ever said that she was dating the President and if I ever said that the president gave her D200, 000. I was also asked indirectly if I know about a publication about her on the freedom newspaper. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Could you describe the conditions of your detention at the NIA? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Well it was terrible, compare to any decent standard of living. Filthy toilets, too many mosquitoes and roaches, the food looked terrible though I never had it. I had family bring me fruits. I ate fruits and chicken throughout the time I was there. As detainees, we were allotted a D75 daily allowance, D25 for breakfast, D25 for lunch and D25 for dinner. I did not know what to buy with D25 at first, but I later used mine to buy boiled eggs, peanuts and or a bottle of malta. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Have you gotten the chance to talk to the NIA DG Lamin Saine and his Directorate, while at the NIA? If yes, what did they tell you? …………………………………………………………………………………………. FC: I never met with DG Saine during my detention; he had travelled to Mecca shortly after I was arrested. I did meet with the DDG, Yankuba Badgie on two occasions, asking him how he would feel if this was him arrested and detained for no reason. He kept insisting that he was waiting on clearance from the president for my release. One of the meetings was in the presence of Louie Gomez, the director of operations/internal security. ………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Did the NIA ask you about some of the past Freedom Newspaper reportage (I mean stories) associated with your name? If yes, what stories did they question you about? …………………………………………………………………………………………. FC: No they did not. Obviously they were not interested with truth at that time. Their intent was not to vindicate me but rather to implicate me. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: You have time and time blamed Manyima Bojang of being responsible for your arrest. How did Manyima caused your arrest? Is she the Director General of the NIA? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: Well the story of my arrest started with Ma Nyima, I got her number from a friend, confronted her about rumors that she was spreading about me, and I got picked up shortly after my conversation with her. Of course she is not the DG of NIA, but she is dating powerful men in the government, which render her some implied authority. I think she might have influenced my arrest through them. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Did you know Manyima Bojang? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: Nope, The GRTS Marketing Manager introduced me to her; who also later told me that he gave her my number and that Ma nyima said she kept calling me, but I dont pickup her calls. She later sent me a message to say it was her, it was at that time that I picked up. She expressed interest in appearing on my show, which I accepted and had her on the show for free, in my quest to promote young Gambians. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: We gathered that the NIA questioning also centered on the Freedom Newspaper September publications. What were the stories that they were talking about? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I dont even know what was published on freedom in September that tarnished the image of The President. I was in Dakar from the 1st to the 9th of September and was arrested and detained on September 15th to October 9th. I never even went to your achieves to see what article they were taking about. I doubt they even know what they were talking about. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: I read a Facebook posting of yours, in which you also blamed the current Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service and Presidential Affairs Minister Momodou Sabally and one Fatou Fatty for your strained relationship with Jammeh. What role has Mr. Sabally played in your arrest if there is any? …………………………………………………………………………………………. FC: Sabally was collecting info from Fatou Fatty and Ma Nyima and sending it to The President, he did that with Gen. Saul Badgie, who was texting me all the time that everything will be fine. But I subsequently fell in their trap ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: How about Fatou Fatty? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Well I talked about her involvement earlier ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: How was your relationship with Momodou Sabally prior to your firing? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Well, before he became SG and all that, Sabally was always on my show all the time, he wrote poems for me, sent me a thank you card and wrote many articles on both Standard News Paper and The Daily Observer, calling me The smartest woman out of kiang I could remember Sabally would call me and complained about his bosses at the Ministry of Finance until his credit runs out. I once featured him on a TV documentary I did for Jammeh, he appreciated that so much and told me he had many compliments about it, and that his minister was jealous about it. I could remember I once put on my FB that I was at Gaya with friends, few minutes later, Sabally showed up there, he was running after me for publicity, I came to realize that the man is a wannabe and that he was hungry for fame, hence his association with Me, Gibou Bala Gaye, Latirr Carr and Co. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Few weeks before your were fired, I saw you and Sabally at the State House on GRTS newscast; laughing and smiling while Jammeh was addressing a meeting there. How can you reconcile your statements painting Sabally as your enemy when he was your close friend yesterday? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: I did not know at that time that he was so evil minded, I suspected something, but I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. At the end he pretended to be very busy each time I wanted to see him. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Will you say that your strained relationship with Momodou Sabally was as a result of the Balafong Facebook page saga? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Well I confronted Sabally on the Balafong issue, knowing that he misled the president on the issue, Sabally and I know very well that Balafong does not talk about politics on their forum, but he insisted that they do and that the executions were discussed on there…I also confronted him on the forex issue for the fact that he was writing too many press releases contradicting himself.. I guess he did not like that, it may be another reason why he blocked my access from the president, thinking that the president could discuss the issue with me. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: What is noise behind this Momodou Sabally, Latirr Carr, and Balafong grapevine talk all about? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Well Sabally once sent me a text message asking for Willie Carrs number Latirrs dad, I had to call Latirr to find out why Sabally did not call him direct and ask him for his fathers number, Latirr said he does not know, but he gave me his fathers number which I passed to Sabally by text, he never even say thank you to me. I later learned that he had a meeting with Latirr and his parents, I was not at that meeting, so I did not know what was discussed. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Has Jammeh raised the issue of Balafong with you before your firing? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Nope, Jammeh and I never talked about Balafong …………………………………………………………………………………………. FR: Has Jammeh consulted you, when he had in mind hiring Momodou Sabally? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: No, I was never consulted on cabinet appointments ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Did you cause the sacking of Njogu Bah? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: I never even talked to President Jammeh about Njogu Bah, come on they were really close, who will take that risk. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: How comes that Njogu was fired as soon as Jammeh hires you? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: Coincidence maybe; I spoke to Njogu when he was packing up, not knowing that he was fired …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Do you know why Njogu Bah was fired? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I have no definitive idea why he was fired ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: How was your working relationship with Njogu Bah like? Does two of you ever get along? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: I got to know Njogu well when I was appointed for the second time. I went into his office to clear every doubt that I thought he had on his mind about me. We had an open and frank discussion about what both of us were told about each other. After that we had a good professional relationship. Njogu is good person compare to Sabally, he is more professional and does not leak state information like Sabally would do each time the president is done with the files. With Sabally, the presidents minutes are leaked, well before the action officer get the files. I saw him do that many times and other staff at the President’s office can attest to this as well. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: I am sure you are familiar with the following names: Mamburay Njie, Alhagie Ceesay, Ex Information Minister Cham. What led to their departure from the government? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: I have no idea, I know for a fact that Alhaji Ceesay and Mamburry Njie were very close to Jammeh. I got removed well before they were removed and I could remember The President once said on TV that he is happy to call them his boys. I really dont know why they were removed. In fact Alhaji Cham, is a good friend of mine, we continue to talk after he was removed. …………………………………………………………………………………………. FR: As Press Director, what are your duties and responsibilities first thing in the morning, when you report to the State House? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Meet with the Chief of Protocol to see whats on The Presidents schedule, let the press know if there is any program that would need coverage and handle files that are PR related for The Presidents attention. Also to be at hand once the president gets into his office, in case he needs to talk to me. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Dont you think it was a waste of taxpayer’s money to pay you since Jammeh wouldnt allow you to speak to the international press and also conduct press briefings to the nation about the activities of the government--more importantly the President? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Well the office of the Director of Press and Communication is an essential link between any government and its people if utilized to its full capacity. So I won’t say it’s a waste of taxpayers’ money but rather an office that is purely underutilized. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: What else does your job entails as DPPR? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Supposed to be taking care of all press/media related issues around the president ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Fatou, the State House is an interesting place to work. There are a lot of activities taking place there. How did Jammeh conducts his hiring and firing process? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: See I would not know this, because I have never been consulted on such issues. …………………………………………………………………………………………. FR: During your time there, has Jammeh ever confide in you on some of his planned state decisions; just be honest with me? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: No, I dont know who he discuss those decisions with, but its definitely not me. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: During your quiet meetings with Jammeh, what kind of discussions do you have with him? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Well Jammeh and I only talk about social issues. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: You were first hired as Director of Press back in 2011 and you got fired barely less than six months down the line. What triggered your firing then? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: Well I dont know, I heard it had to do with Dr. Jannehs arrest, that it was believed that I had affiliations with him, since we all worked at the US Embassy. But Janneh and I did not even worked at the Embassy at the same time frame, I came in after he left. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: What make you accept the job of DPPR for the second time? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: Well Jammeh assured me that everything would be fine after we had a meeting about it; I believed him and took the offer. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: How comes that you were able to work at both the State House and the GRTS at the same time? Were you not in violation of the Civil Service regulations? One person drawing two salaries in one government... ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Well the PMO never complained to me about it and besides I was never a GRTS staff, I was on contract for reading the news, making far less than one hundred dollars a month. The Fatu Show was my idea and concept, I worked with GRTS on a percentage basis on that one ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Comium signed you for a multimillion TV deal called the Fatous show. What happen to the contract you signed with Comium? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: The Fatu Show is mine, I approached Comium for sponsorship, but I understand when GRTS said that they had a an executive directive that I should not be on that TV again, Comium withdrew their sponsorship. The show had other sponsors too beside Comium, but Comium were the main sponsors. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Is it true that Jammeh would occasionally phone the GRTS to ask the staff to yank certain programs on air? If yes, what programs? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: I heard the same, but I have never witnessed any situation like that. I was not working for GRTS, I was only there to read news and present my show, thats all. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Is it true that Jammeh would also insist that you Fatou Camara must read certain headlines news on GRTS, each time that he carries out major policy decisions. For example, the August 2012 execution of the mile two nine inmates, the parading of Pa Nderrys parents on GRTS, the governments rejection of the EU Demands, and so forth... …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: That is definitely not true, I read news Mondays and Fridays, it makes sense that most of the breaking news will come either at the beginning of the week or at the end of the week. I have never been called upon to read a specific news bulletin, …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: How do you feel when Pa Nderrys parents were paraded before the TV? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Well I could remember speaking to the late DG, Momodou Sanyang about me being against parading people on the TV, well before Pa Nderys parents issue came up. I made it clear to him that the act was unethical and unacceptable, but he said it was a directive and that he cannot do anything about it..I raised the same issue with The then head of news, Ardy Fatty, but he too could not do anything about it. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: In your view, was the government doing the right thing by parading Pa Nderrys parents before the TV? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: Well of course its unethical to parade people on TV whether they are Pa Nderys mum or not. I could remember there was another case of an 18-year-old boy, paraded on TV on the basis that he stole a lap top computer. I read news on that day, but complained to the GRTS management immediately after. I was paid to read the news, I was not the news editor and I had no control over the content of the news, I see the news script 15 minutes before the news, and there was no way I could walk away from the news, because Pa Nderys parents are paraded on there or somebody else was on there. I saw that story on Pa Nderys parents few minutes before the news, I was really not expecting it on there. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Was the GRTS part of the interviewing of Pa Nderrys parents? Who was the guy holding the microphone interviewing Pa Nderrys family? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: Again I was not a GRTS staff at that time, I have no idea who that story came about, but I know for sure that the guy that did the interview was not a GRTS staff …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Have you ever interviewed Tabara Samba, one of the executed inmates? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: I personally have never interviewed Tabara Samba, my company, I-Media was paid to produce 17 documentaries for the government, of which we had total control of the content, my staff interviewed Tabara at the prisons when they went there to film the part on prisoners and how they are kept at the prisons. I could remember Tabara talked about how she learned the Koran and other skills while in prison. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Do you have the tape of your Tabara Samba interview? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: The tape is at GRTS, on the documentary about security ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: In your first appointment; you were credited of having organized a meeting between Jammeh and the local press. What was Jammehs initial reaction when you initiated to have a meeting with the private press? ………………………………………………………………………………… FC: Well after a long meeting with him, I guess it made sense to him, so he accepted and gave a date and a time. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: What is Yahya Jammehs perception of the exiled online Gambian press--more importantly the Freedom Newspaper? …………………………………………………………………………………………. FC: Of course Jammeh is not happy with the online papers, who will happy with a paper that is all out to destabilize you, lol …………………………………………………………………………………………. FR: Does Jammeh trust the Freedom Newspaper as a reliable source of news? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: Well I dont know, because I have never asked him about that, but I know for a fact that the NIA depends a lot on Freedom Newspaper …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Does Jammeh read Freedom Newspaper? How about the radio? Does Jammeh listen to Freedom Radio? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: Again I am not sure about this, but I know for a fact that he knows whats going on at Freedom, without me briefing him. I dont know how he gets to know though. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: The million-dollar question everyone is eager to know is: What is Jammehs perception of Pa Nderry MBai? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: Well Jammeh and I talked about Pa Ndery and The Freedom Newspaper on many occasions, but I cannot disclose what we discussed. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Has Jammeh ever raised the issue of Pa Nderry MBai and the Freedom Newspaper during your tenure of working at the State House? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Yes, but I cant talk about what we discussed. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Have you ever encourage Jammeh to allow Gambians to freely access the Freedom Newspaper, and the other blocked Gambian online sites? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: I have always been against the blocking of the freedom newspapers, cause it will make more and more people curious, which will give Freedom a wider readership. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: In your view Fatou, why is Jammeh blocking the Freedom Newspaper Internet Protocol address (IP) address? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: He never discussed his reasons with me. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Does Jammeh know that Gambians are reading the Freedom Newspaper, even though he has instructed Gamtel to block it? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: Well I told Jammeh that I read Freedom newspaper and other online newspapers to know whats happening, I am not sure if other people told him, but I know I did. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Let us shift our gears to the First Lady Zienab Souma Jammeh. What can you tell us about the First Lady? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: The first lady is a very private person, so I dont know much about her. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Does the First Lady read Gambian newspapers? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: I dont work in her office so I wouldnt know, but I have made requests for her office to have newspaper deliveries ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Is the First Lady jealous? Does she trust you around her husband Jammeh Musa? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: The first thing I did when I picked up my job, was to make the first lady comfortable with my presence around her husband, after which She knew that I am a professional and that I was there to do my job, nothing more, nothing less. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Who is Fatou Njie? Is she a fan of the Freedom Newspaper? …………………………………………………………………………………………. FC: Fatou is the first ladys protocol, I dont she will be a fan of the freedom newspaper, with all the stories freedom write about her. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: How many wives does Jammeh have? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I only know about Zineb Jammeh …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Is Jammeh still married to Alima Sallah? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I heard they have been divorced. I have never spoken to Jammeh about it, cause I guess thats personal …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Has Jammeh ever hosted you at the AU Villas? If yes, under what condition were you hosted at the AU Villas? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: When I took up the DPC job in 2011, I was given a two bedroom house at the AU Villa, as a staff of the office of the president, who was renting at that time and paying a huge amount of money on rent. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: What kinds of people are hosted at the AU Villas? FC: I dont know, I never checked who else lived there …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Does Jammeh have respect for Gambian women? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: It will be hard to argue that Jammeh respects any Gambia citizen. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Who manages the AU Villas? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: Who owns the AU Villas? What happen to Mustapha Njie Tafs shares? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: I dont know, all I know is that the then chief of protocol, Alhajie Ceesay, gave me the keys to my apartment …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Coming back to your case, how did Mansa Bah becomes your surety? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Mansa is a friend and a business partner to my husband, he was out of town when I taken to court, I called and told him what the bail conditions were and he told me that he had contacted Mansa and that Mansa was on his way to me …………………………………………………………………………………………. FR: With your following and popularity in the country, you meant to tell us that you dont have anyone close to your family who can bail you? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: I don’t have any closer family to me than my husband Yuspha who I contacted once my bail was announced. Mansa is a good friend of Yusupha, when Yus contacted him, he agreed to do it based on the friendship and trust they share. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Is it true that you appeared at the Banjul magistrate’s court without a lawyer representing you. Edward Singhatey, who was in court at the time had to announce his representation for you. How true is this? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: Its true, I never knew I was going to court to be charged, I was told I was going home, but had to stop by the court as that was the procedure …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Where does the idea of Fatou Camara jumping court bail come from? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Well it came from me, after I realized that the whole issue was shady and was not making any sense, especially when I learned that someone was put under pressure to go into my FB account and tamper with it for evidence. The NIA had my passwords at that time ………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Could you explain how you workout your escape route? ………………………………………………………………………………………. FC: Yes I would have except that the good people who risked their lives and the many who may need the same assistance after me will be in jeopardy. So I believe the right thing to do is not to disclose the details of my escape. …………………………………………………………………………………………. FR: Who help you and your surety to escape? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: I never escaped with Mansa, I went alone …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Was Mansa Bah with you in Dakar? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I spoke to Mansa on the phone while he was in Dakar, he was not with me. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Is your husband Yusupha Saidy on the run? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Nope, he is not on the run, he is a businessman, and he travels a lot. He has nothing to run for. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Was there any foreign government associated with your escape? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I Will not discuss my escape plan, route or people involved. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Why do you have to thank the Senegalese government in your Senegalese press interviews upon your escape? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: I never thanked the Senegalese Government, I only thanked the Senegalese people who were sending messages on my FB page and the Senegalese press who were writing reports daily on my arrests and detention. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Who hosted you during your brief stay in Senegal? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Let me directly talk to my supporters, I was well taken care of while in Senegal. I didn’t have any issues thank God. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: What happen to the TV deal that you signed with Youssou Ndours TFM TV? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: I have never signed a contract with TFM, I did talk to them about bringing the Fatou show there, we agreed in principle, but did not sign any documents. I was supposed to travel to Dakar again for the signing, but I was arrested and detained before we could do it. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Why do you chose to have Fatous show featured at TFM? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I believed it was a great business strategy, one that will expand the show and a potential to make more money through sponsorships. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Is it correct to say that your decision to work for TFM was motivated by your strained relationship with Jammeh. You became angry when Jammeh fired you and you think that the best way to make Jammeh jealous and angry was to work for the Senegalese press. Your response? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: My job as Press Director was not a personality or popularity concept to me. When I was fired I was never bitter about it. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to serve my nation. I am a businesswoman at heart. My success will not be defined by shutting one door. If anything I think Jammeh was jealous of me. All I was doing was expanding my brand through new investment strategy. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Have you met Youssou Ndour during your presence in Senegal? If yes, did Youssou empathize with you for your current predicament? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: Nope I didn’t ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Did the NIA question you about your relationship with Journalist Jules Diop? If yes, what happen? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: Well they did ask about a journalist that I met in Dakar and that happened to be Jules Diop, they asked what we discussed, and I told them that it was private. FR: What brought Jules Diops name into your case? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: I guess its because I met him, while I was in Dakar and Jammeh does not like him. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Did the NIA ever accuses you while you were there of being a spy for the Senegalese government? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I heard about that but they did not mention it to me during their interrogation. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: After your escape, a delegation of Gambian officials visited Senegal. Do you know what they were doing in Senegal? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: I did not have any official information about their presence in Dakar. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Now let shift our gears to the Lebanese community in the Gambia. Who is Muhammed Bazzi? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: A wealthy business tycoon. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Could you explain Bazzis areas of investments in the Gambia? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: I am not familiar with Bazzi’s area of investment in The Gambia. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: How close is Muhammed Bazzi to Yahya Jammeh? Are the two buddies? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I know they meet a lot, I have never been present in any of their meetings so I can’t honestly tell you what their relationship is like. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Is Muhammed Bazzi your friend? Do you know his family in the Gambia? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Bazzi and I know of each other, but we are not friends …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: How often do you speak to Bazzi while in the Gambia? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I hardly speak to Bazzi, I see him around though ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: What kind of business relationship exists between Bazzi and Jammeh? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: I am not privy of their business relationship ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: How often does Bazzi visits Jammeh at the State House? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: As often as Jammeh wants to see him. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Have you ever witnessed Bazzi and Jammehs meetings at the State House? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: Nope, they meet behind closed doors …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Do you know the names of some of some of the Lebanese, who used to work at Prime Bank and their positions? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: I once had a meeting there with Manhals wife; manhal is Bazzis business partner FR: There is a Lebanese guy called Tony Ghatson. Who is this guy? …………………………………………………………………………………………. FC: A businessman and a tenant to one of my husbands properties ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Interesting. Your husband Yusupha Saidy rented him his house. What kind of work does Tony do in the Gambia? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I know Tony is a businessman, but I have no idea what his business dealings exactly entail. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: How often does Tony meet with Jammeh at the State House? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: The Chief of protocol arranges his meetings not me. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Does Tony or Muhammed Bazzi need clearance to meet Jammeh at the State House? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I have no knowledge of that …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Is it true that Tony caused Teneng Ba Jaiteh to be fired from her job? What happen? ………………………………………………………………………….. FC: I have no knowledge of that. You seem to know more information than people living in the Gambia. ……………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: In your view, why is Jammeh more comfortable doing business with Lebanese than born Gambian natives? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: Jammeh does business with born Gambians. He is just more comfortable with the revenue aspect of business rather than the nationality and that is what the Lebanese bring plenty of to the table. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Let us talk about government corruption in the Gambia. How corrupt is the Yahya Jammeh administration? …………………………………………………………………………………………. FC: It is simple math. Lets look at how much the president’s salary is compared to how much he currently owns. It doesn’t add up. Jammeh as a president is richer than our nation and he was broker than me when he took office. Corruption is not the work when you talk about Jammeh. …………………………………………………………………………………………. FR: Do you consider Yahya Jammeh as an honest guy, or a corrupt guy? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: We just talked about him being corrupt, so I guess that answers your question. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: What are Jammehs areas of investment in the Gambian economy? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: Jammeh is the Gambian economy. You cannot separate Jammeh from our economy; our nation will collapse economically if that happens. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: As a journalist, do you think it is fair for the President to engage in profit making economic ventures when the economy is on its dying knees? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: Well, I once discussed this issue with an official at The Gambia Chamber of commerce asking if they can get Jammeh to stop competing with local businessmen, but I understand that there is no way issues like that can be discussed with Jammeh. But to answer your question no! ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Have you ever attempted to advise Jammeh to concentrate on improving the economy and the living conditions of impoverished Gambians than pursuing his own economic interest? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: I have never been Jammehs economic adviser so no I have never attempted to advise him. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: I listen to your interview with the BBC Focus on Africa. And at the tail end of the interview you said: The President should not expect people to say good things about him, when he has forced people to leave the country. Are you implying that you are talking evil of Jammeh because he has forced you to leave a country that you loved so much? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: Jammeh did force me to leave a country I so dearly love. If I were in the Gambia whether I was the Director of Press or not I would have never said something as simple as “there is no freedom of speech in this country”. So especially to those critics that say I cozied up with the government and now I am exiled and decided to speak against it, I say to them prove yourself right, go to Banjul say what you expected me to say or do what you expected me to do and I will commend you for your bravery and commitment to liberate Gambia. Truth is I was never elected by the people of the Gambia, I was appointed by the president to serve as a Director of Press in which capacity I served 90 days on two different occasions a total of 180 days which was not concurrent. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Do you have any regrets serving Jammehs government? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: No regrets at all, I was serving my country and Jammeh happened to be the president at the time; the government not Jammeh paid my salary. There is a distinction between the two. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: How is Jammehs relationship with his Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and Security Chiefs? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: I have never served a day as a minister, Perm Sect or security chief and I never had a conversation with any of as the nature of their relationship with Jammeh. So I truly can’t say. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Does Jammeh respect his Ministers? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I dont know …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: What is your best recollection of Jammehs bad day at work? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: On days like those, he hardly sees anybody, so I cant tell …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: As Press Director, do you witness Cabinet meetings? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: No, I was not a member of cabinet as a result never sat in cabinet meetings. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Is business as normal during Jammehs meeting with his cabinet? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: I won’t know since I never served as a minister. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Is it true that some ministers will come to you and ask you mend fences between them and Jammeh? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: No such thing ever happened …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Who has direct access to Jammeh in the country, without going through any formal protocol? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: I have never served as Jammeh’s chief protocol so I would not know who possesses a VIP access pass to Jammeh. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: How often does Jammeh calls you on the phone while you served as his Press Director? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I guess enough times. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: As Press Director, have you ever pick up the phone and call Jammeh directly and ask him to shed light on some press queries, or something you might have read in the Internet? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: No, the secretary general is my supervisor, so he is my first point of contact in all matters. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Fatou, in your view is it normal for the government of Taiwan to hand over checks to the Presidential Affairs Minister? I saw you the other day at a ceremony at the State House, in which the Taiwanese Ambassador handed a check to Momodou Sabally. Do you where these Taiwanese checks are going? As a journalist do you bother to find out? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: Nope that was not me, I never attended a ceremony at Saballys office …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Do you know whether monies donated to the Gambia Government by the Taiwanese government reaches its Gambian targeted beneficiaries? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I cannot tell you what was donated and for what project. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Who is Gambias/Taiwanese relationship benefiting? Would you say Yahya Jammeh, or the Gambian people? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: I am sure it benefitted the Gambians but the lion’s share went to Jammeh …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Is it true that Yahya Jammeh reacts to every Freedom Newspaper reportage? ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: I am not sure he reacts to every story on Freedom Newspaper, but I know he reacts to some of them …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: It is correct to say that Yahya Jammeh trusts Freedom Newspaper? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: He never told me …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: What can you us about the situation of human rights and press freedom in the Gambia? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: There is a blatant abuse of human rights and press freedom in the Gambia. Unfortunately the people in the country do not have a voice to speak up. People live in constant terror and uncertainty. The claws of the monster is too strong and will crush any who dares say anything that is not in line with what he likes. It is easy for us to speak from a distance and blame those in Banjul for not speaking up but until you walk a mile in their shoe you may never understand their pain. The situation in the country is terrifying to say the least. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: In your view, why is Jammed hiding stuff from the press and the Gambian people? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: I think the Gambian people see a lot of what Jammeh is doing. Quite frankly we just feel that we can’t do anything about it. This is a case of defenseless citizens who see and endure physical, emotional, psychological, mental and economic abuse but we could not stand up for ourselves, we don’t have a big brother to come to our aid and boast our confidence to fight back. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Is Jammeh a transparent President? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: I don’t think Jammeh can spell transparent even if his life depends on it. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: So Jammeh believes in keeping Gambians and the countrys donor partners in perpetual darkness? Why is he doing this? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: It is a system that worked for him for a while the case of the left hand not knowing what the right is doing. Keeping his donors and citizens in utter darkness makes him feel invincible and the opportunity to exploit both parties. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Has the government press been doing a good job in holding the government accountable? Why not? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: Not even if they want to. The Gambia is a one-man show. It is no secret that the president is the judge, the jury, businessman, legislature, executive judiciary and the media. The Gambia press does not stand a chance in holding the government accountable. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: How about the private press? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: Are you kidding me…. Private press is none existence in Banjul, in the sense that they do not have the freedom to report at will. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: You were in the government when Jammeh announced to kill the nine death row inmates. Do you know whether the executions were tabled before cabinet? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: I was not in The Government at that time; I was on contract with GRTS to read the news twice a week. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: What can you tell us about the executions? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: It’s inhumane, I cried so hard after reading the news that night. I hit a friend’s car after I left the newsroom because I was distraught, this friend knows cause I went to her house and cried my heart out. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: What type of person is Jammeh? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: A typical Gambian corrupted by power and greed. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Let us talk about your relationship with the Jammeh brothers: Pa Harry and Ben Jammeh. Were you reporting people to Pa Harry and Ben to get them arrested and charged? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: They are very good friends, I was introduced to Pa Harry by Ben. I knew Ben after he was removed from office and worked at NTA, that was back in 2008. He used to come to my office daily, and we talked about a whole host of issues. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: In the case of the Touray brothers, it has been alleged that you once phoned Abdouraman Tourays mum and ask her to advice her sons to leave the Gambia to avoid being arrested because the state was determined at the time to arrest them. How true is this Fatou? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: I dont even know Abdourahmans mum, let alone her phone number. I have never spoken to her on the phone. I could remember seeing her once at a tailor shop, she introduced herself as Dramas mum, we exchanged greetings and she prayed for me. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Were you not invited at the NIA, when Ben Jammeh and Pa Harry got arrested? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: It was when Ben got arrested, Assan Touray mentioned my name on his statement, and I was called in and asked a few questions. It was not relevant at all, a he said she said kind of talk, I guess that was why the NIA did not waste their time on it. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: What were you doing at the NIA? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I just told you ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FR: Did the NIA ask you to write a statement against Ben? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: There was nothing that warranted me to write a statement against Ben. I wasn’t asked to and I did not. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Did the NIA ask you about the case of Abdourama Touray and his brother? If yes, what did you tell the NIA? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: It was an allegation that Assan Touray made about me telling him to leave Gambia; I went there to clear that. I dont know Assan, I knew his brother Abdourahman, Ben stopped talking to me for a while cause he thought I was on Dramans side, the other party also had people telling them to watch out for me, its was crazy, but who cares, I know for a fact that Draman is a nice person and I have respect for him..I think the whole drama was coming from Assan not Draman, but he got it all wrong as I was looking out for his brothers interest …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Have you ever dreamt in your lifetime that you will one day become a refugee outside the Gambia? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: Well I am sure even you, you never dreamt you will be a refuge outside of The Gambia and I am sure its the same for the others, so no I never dreamt I will be FR: Many people are confused about your marital status. I read somewhere in which you called Yusupha Saidy as your husband, and another posting in which you called Saidy as your former husband Saidy. Are you married, or single? …………………………………………… FC: Yusupha is a very supportive husband, he I always there for the kids and I ………………………………………… FR: When are you planning to go to the Gambia anytime soon? Not under Jammehs regime, right? ……………………………………… FC: I will go to Gambia after Jammeh inshallah I guess that’s the only time I can go right. …………………………………… FR: Some of your critics are saying that people should treat you case with Jammeh with extra caution because you might end up reconciling with Jammeh one day. Do we see Fatou Camara knelling before Jammeh, or sending some big guys in Banjul to appeal on her behalf so that Jammeh can grant her amnesty to return to the country? ………………………………………………… FC: Well that’s their opinion and I respect that. No one has yet to see me kneel down and beg for any earthly things. I hope they have the time and patience to wait for that. In the mean time I am doing me hope my critics respect that. …………………………………… FR: Now that you have lost TV personality status; job, and abandon your country of origin, what does the future holds for Fatou Camara? Is this the end of the story for you? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: In the end everything will be ok, If it is not ok then it must not be the end. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Has Yahya Jammeh fairly rewarded you--given your past loyalty to him and his government? ………………………………………………… FC: I was not looking for Jammehs reward, I did what I had to do for my country not him as a person, I am grateful that sober minded Gambians understand that I was working for the nation only hired by the Jammeh regime. Presidents come and go but the nation will always remain and the people will be there to stay. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: What can other people serving the Jammeh government learn from your case? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: Well my story is out there for everyone to read. It is natural for people to think it will never happen to me. The truth is no one is immune to the wrath of President Jammeh. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: What was Jammehs reaction when he heard his former Justice Minister Lamin Jobarteh, Tourism Minister Fatou Mass Jobe, Education Minister Fatou Lamin Faye, and some security chiefs being interviewed on Freedom Radio? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: Actually Jammeh initially didn’t see an issue with what they said, the SG at the time Njogu called them in on orders of the President and caution them on talking loosely. I wasn’t present during their conversation. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Has Jammeh discussed the conduct of his ministers with you? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: No, we never discussed that. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: In your view, why was Jammeh not willing to implement the EU Article 8, 17 Points Demand? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I guess its because he wants to continue ruling the country with an iron fist. And those demands did not favor him. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Is it true that Civil Servants were forced to take part in the anti EU protest march that was organized by the State House? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I heard about that too that circulars were passed to offices that they should attend. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Let us talk about the Vice President Isatou Njie Saidy. Does Jammeh respect and care about the Vice President? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I know they exchange a lot of jokes as a Jola and a Fula, but I don’t know if Jammeh respects or cares about her. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Where were you when Isatou Njie Saidy was interviewed by Freedom Radio? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I was in the Gambia not working or affiliated with the government at the time. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Has Jammeh shared his reaction with you about Isatou Njies Freedom radio interview? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: No, I was not working for him at that time. …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Has Lamin Waa Juwara once went off on Isatou Njie Saidy during a cabinet meeting? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I have never attended any cabinet meetings, so I can’t confirm that to you. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Do you have respect for Isatou Njie Saidy? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I am raised to respect my elders so in that regard yes. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Do you have respect for Jammeh before your problem with him? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: Yes, I have respect for him as an elder and statesman …………………………………………………………………………………………… FR: Who would you blame for your court case? …………………………………………………………………………………………… FC: I don’t play the blame game. I was hired to do a job then fired and then falsely accused and detained by the government for 25 days violating my constitutional right. Thank god I am alive and well with my children, family and loved ones. May god continue to bless us abundantly; its time to rebuild not to point fingers and blame. …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Any last word Fatou? …………………………………………………………………………………………... FC: I will have it for tomorrow …………………………………………………………………………………………... FR: Thanks Fatou for taking your time to speak to Freedom Radio. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. FC: Thank you for having me Pa. I am looking forward to the opportunity to interview you.
