The Secretary of the Treasury had interesting words of encouragement for us doing more with less in the coming year, an hour later the Commissioner follows with a similar message elaborating that though we wont have RIFs or voluntary early retirements (because that costs more in the year of action) that we may be faced with Furloughs in 2015, more so than we experienced in previous years. The net effect on operations budget is to set the clock back to 1998, but were asked to service many more taxpayers, this is impossible, wait times on TOLL-FREE will be 30 or more minutes and more than 50% of callers will abandon the wait. Youre about to experience the unintended consequence of action and lack of action by Congress.
