The Senate Armed Services and Foreign Relations committees are fighting to stop the flow of U.S. dollars to terror-linked companies in Afghanistan. The committees argue the U.S. is subsidizing the murder of U.S. soldiers by financing companies with ties to some of the most dangerous terrorist organizations in the world. “It’s like the United States government subsidizing the Taliban, al-Qaeda, the Haqqani network, those groups that are trying to shoot and kill our soldiers,” said Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), a member of both the Armed Services and Foreign Relations committees. The committees have examined a list of 43 U.S.-funded companies that could have ties to Islamic terrorist groups. One of these companies is partly owned by a leader of the Haqqani network, the terror group that attacked the U.S. Embassy in Kabul in 2011, killing 16 people. The U.S. provides “approximately $2 million per month to Haqqani Network to finance its activities.” RELATED: U.S. Supplies $148 Million to Palestinian Terrorists The Pentagon refuses to block these companies from receiving U.S. contracts because it would violate their “due process.
