The Shackleton Preservation Trusts charitable objects state: The advancement of the education of the public in the subject of military aviation history by the preservation and display in the air and on the ground of Shackleton and other military and historical aircraft. WL795. WR960. WR963. WR974. WR977. WR982. WR985. XF708. Eight left. We dont have the resources to purchase and remove Avro Shackleton WL795 from RAF St Mawgan, without significantly disadvantaging our work on WR963s return to flight. We cant let that happen. We will however attempt to save the aircraft if we can, though it likely means spares recovery. If there are any interested parties that want to form a co-operative effort to save this aircraft, please let us know. Similarly if there is an individual out there that has the resources to save WL795, our Trust will give you every assistance we can if it means avoiding the scrapyard.
