The Siblings School Holiday Cooking program was held at our Stuart - TopicsExpress

The Siblings School Holiday Cooking program was held at our Stuart Centre located in Newcastle NSW to give siblings of children with a disability the chance to meet and hang out with others sharing similar experiences. Among our ‘chefs’ (aka team leaders) were volunteers Zoe Colman a physio student and Andrea Rufo from the Greater Charitable Foundation which supports many of our Hunter youth programs. The day was jam-packed with foodie activities including a cupcake decorating class, popcorn relay, blind fold taste tests, basic skills challenges and an invention test where the kids had to come up with a dessert and name it. The day’s ‘menu’ also included cooking hamburgers for lunch and some chat time to talk about what it’s like having a sibling with a disability. A big thanks goes to the Greater Charitable Foundation for supporting the day and to all our staff and volunteers who ensured everyone went home with some very sweet memories! Our sibling days are one of many programs we offer to support families living with cerebral palsy. Check out the photos on the Greater Charitable Foundation Facebook page!
