The Silent Routine. Do you know that one? I know it well. When I - TopicsExpress

The Silent Routine. Do you know that one? I know it well. When I was a kid, I ran towards people who used silence as a way to torment. They were my parents, after all. A kid needs their attention and attunement to develop. This pattern plagued me for many years, despite reaching the stage where I cognitively understood what was happening. It was a deep and familiar groove, after all. Over time, I have worked this through. I now say goodbye to those who passively use silence as a form of expression. They have no place in my life. What helped me to reach this stage was working the shame piece. With a healthier sense of self, I have no resonance with anything that does not reflect it. The more deeply we value ourselves, the easier it gets to say farewell to those who dwell in the shadows.
