The Son of Man did not come to be ministered to, but to minister, - TopicsExpress

The Son of Man did not come to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give his life a RANSOM for many. Matthew 20:28. Ransoms are paid to hostile kidnappers, not loving fathers. The Ransom was paid BY the Father, not TO the Father. We are worth everything to Him. He was willing to pay anything and everything to win us back from the codependent clutches of Satan. His only purpose of heart was to turn our Stockholm Syndrome captivity to Satan through the life-imparting blood of His flawless son. John 3:16. Satan had to legally let go of us in order to lawfully grab hold of a suddenly vulnerable Jesus. But Satan still couldnt conquer Christ. Jesus valiant virtue was still too strong to be contained or drained by Satanic principalities and powers. Satan just wasnt angel enough to take a dangerously depleted Jesus down and out. And therein hangs a tale-- Christus Victor! Bottom line: Its time to trade up our atonement theory from one that dishonors Gods character as a killer of His own son (Penal Substitution) to one which heroically honors Him as our captivity-turning champion (Christus Victor). Jesus transfused His pulsating life-blood into our anemic spiritual veins. He is the divine donor of a dynastic bloodline-- the firstborn of many brethren-- all in all-- all in Him, all of us infused with the power of His indestructible life!
