The Sound of Silence Yesterday at the press briefing, a few of - TopicsExpress

The Sound of Silence Yesterday at the press briefing, a few of journalists asked me about the composition of the G-20 team of UNP to drive the party strategy at the next election. To be more specific, they wanted to know why I am not part of the core team. Few years ago, I entered politics to serve the nation. I am thankful for all what I got from this country for what I am today, and I do believe every one of us has a duty to repay the dues to our motherland. The avenue of politics, gave me the chance to serve the nation in a meaningful way. To be a dissenting voice against this cruel regime is no easy task but I enjoy being the voice for the voiceless. I enjoy fighting for what is right! I enjoy being on the side of the people. Early in my life I figured it out the power of words and the power of voice. I must confess, only yesterday I figured out the true power of silence. I was bombarded with phone calls and texts, from my people and friends in media to ask me what this is all about! I have worked tirelessly for the United National Party, because I believe only the UNP could resurrect this country once more. I shall continue to give my best shot to see a UNP government soon. My fight is to topple the corrupt regime and to place a government by the people, for the people. Right now I am preparing my notes to take on the Minister of Finance (Who happens to be the President of this country) at the budget. Do I need a title to fight this regime? Do I need a title to stand for what I believe? Do I need a title to be the voice for voiceless? Now don’t start guessing ;) I am not sure, what went on Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel’s head, when they came up with “The sound of silence”, but I am sure it might have had a much deeper meaning. I am back to the budget notes and thereafter my almost daily house-to-house campaign ;-) https://youtube/watch?v=TnMyJ4DIT8A#
